MDOT/MTA Announces New Commuter Routes for Southern Maryland!

Effective Wednesday, November 1, 2023. MTA Commuter Bus Routes 610, 620, 630, 640, and 650 have new contractors and expanded service to include new stops at the National Harbor and DHS St. Elizabeth’s Campus.

Route 610 service from Waldorf to Washington, DC will provide 10 trips to the National Harbor Monday through Friday. Heading northbound, five trips originating from Waldorf (Trips 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10) will serve the National Harbor Blvd & Waterfront Street and National Harbor Blvd & George Blvd stops. Heading southbound five trips will depart from the National Harbor Blvd & Waterfront Street and National Harbor Blvd & George Blvd stops (Trips 13, 15, 18, 20, and 22) heading towards Waldorf. Route 610 will be operated by Academy Express Capitol Region.

Route 620 service from Waldorf to Washington, DC will provide one trip to the National Harbor Monday through Friday. Heading southbound one trip will depart from the National Harbor Blvd & Waterfront Street and National Harbor Blvd & George Blvd stops (Trip 12 mid-day) heading towards Waldorf. Route 620 will be operated by Academy Express Capitol Region.

Route 630 service from La Plata/Waldorf to Washington, DC will provide 7 trips to the DHS St. Elizabeth’s Campus Visitor Center, SE – Gate 4 Monday through Friday. Heading northbound, four trips originating from La Plata (Trips 1, 3, 5 and 7) will serve the DHS St. Elizabeth’s Campus Visitor Center, SE – Gate 4 stop. Heading southbound three trips will depart from the DHS St. Elizabeth’s Campus Visitor Center, SE – Gate 4 stop (Trips 9, 11, and 13) heading towards La Plata. Route 630 will continue to be operated by Martz Gold Line.

Route 640 service from Waldorf/Accokeek to Washington, DC will provide 6 trips to the National Harbor Monday through Friday. Heading northbound, three trips originating from Smallwood Village Center (Trips 2, 4, and 6) will serve the National Harbor Blvd & Waterfront Street and National Harbor Blvd & George Blvd stops. Heading southbound three trips will depart from the National Harbor Blvd & Waterfront Street and National Harbor Blvd & George Blvd stops (Trips 9, 12, and 14) heading towards Smallwood Village Center. Route 640 will be operated by Martz Gold Line.

Route 650 service from La Plata/Waldorf/Accokeek to Washington, DC will provide one trip to the National Harbor Monday through Friday. Heading southbound one trip will depart from the National Harbor Blvd & Waterfront Street and National Harbor Blvd & George Blvd stops (Trips 9 mid-day) heading towards La Plata. Route 650 will be operated by Keller Transportation.
