Commuter Programs

Alternative means of commuting—by carpooling, vanpooling, transit, commuter buses, telecommuting or biking— alleviates costs, pollution and stress. The Tri-County Council is committed to making transportation easier—and greener—for the benefit of citizens, businesses and commuters. Learn more about our programs below.

Commuter Connections

Commuter Connections is a ridesharing program that allows you to find out about others who live and work near you, have similar work schedules, and are interested in carpooling or vanpooling to and from work. Commuter Connections’ state-of-the-art ridesharing technology allows you to view an interactive and comprehensive list of all potential ridesharing partners in your area.

Commuter Connections also manages Guaranteed Ride Home, a free commuter insurance program for individuals using public or alternative modes of transportation in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Metropolitan areas.

Guaranteed Ride Home offers up to 4 free rides home per year to those who ride transit, commuter rail, bike, walk, carpool, or vanpool to work for occasions and times when their usual transportation options are limited. Guaranteed Ride Home is free to all working in the Baltimore, Central Maryland, and Washington D.C. regions.
