To serve as a forum for the discussion and resolution of issues affecting the Southern Maryland Region. The Council shall select, advocate and advance those activities, which will best serve the interests of all the people of Southern Maryland. These activities shall promote the social and economic development of the Region, environmental protection; include research, information management, and the preparation of a regional plan. All of the activities of the Tri-County Council shall be designed to assist federal, State and county governments in better performing their respective duties.
